From its humble beginnings, the cut flower industry in Colombia has developed into a billion dollar industry with around 75 percent of flowers in the United States today originating from this South American country, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs in both Colombia and the United States.
Colombia has a varied offer of export flowers among which we find roses, carnations,  chrysanthemums and anthuriums. The foliage is also part of the catalog of the country's exports. 


Ecuador:

With hundreds of companies growing 450 rose varieties, Ecuador is the world third-biggest flower exporter after Netherland and Colombia. And it is exported about Percentage of total cut flowers exported 9%. The climate is conducive to the growth of many species of flowers, including Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Daisies, Gypsophila ("Baby's Breath"),  species and "Summer bloomers". Tropical species like the Heliconia are grown in warm and humid areas of Ecuador.

Kenya:

It is the fourth largest exporter of flowers in. There are about 220 flower farms in Kenya, about 70 of them are located near Lake Naivasha. It is the fourth largest exporter of flowers in the world: every third flower sold in Germany comes from this East African country. The main production areas are around Lake Naivasha, Mt. Kenya, Nairobi, Thika, Kiambu, Athi River, Kitale, Nakuru, Kericho, Trans ,  and Eastern Kenya. Kenya Flower Council Members. The main cut flowers grown in Kenya are roses, carnations. It exports about 7 percent of total cut flowers exported.
